You cannot put RAR File Open Knife on a portable or flash drive and have it function correctly. However, there is an alternative tool called “RarZille Free Unrar Portable” that is able to run on portable or USB drives.
You will have to search your files on your PC to find RARKnife.exe on your computer in the RAR File Open Knife installation files. Open up the file that contains the RARKnife.exe file because you will need to put a text file in it. Using notepad, create a text file and name it "password.txt" and save the file with one line in it. The line should be your desired password. Whatever you write in the notepad file will become the default password for your RAR files.
You do not need to use a password to use the RAR File Open Knife tool or to use RAR files in general. However, it is possible to lock archive files such as RAR files and ZIP files with a password. In this case, the person who created the archive file is the one who set the password and is the one who has the password.
Using RAR File Open Knife allows you to see inside RAR files, but you are not able to use the files within the RAR file until they are decompressed. This means you cannot see preview thumbnails of images, you cannot execute programs and you cannot play audio tracks or videos.
There is no free trial. RAR File Open Knife is freeware, which means it is absolutely free. Since all other RAR extractors/decompressers charge money, nice people choose to donate money to the developers.
The easiest way is to copy a few files on your computer and place them in a file. Compress the file and turn it into a RAR archive. Open the archive file with the software and check for yourself to see if any data or files are missing.

You may drag-and-drop a compressed/archive file onto the RAR File Open Knife GUI, or you may right-click the archived/compressed file and click the “Extract” option. Or, you may double-click the compressed/archive file and use RAR File Open Knife as the default opener.
In most cases, an extracted file appears and then disappears because it is corrupted and is instantly deleted after being extracted. Try the RAR file with other decompression tools, and maybe find out if it is encrypted, but the most likely answer is that the RAR file is corrupted.
It may mean that the unrar DLL has been damaged. It may not that the file you are unzipping is defective or corrupted. It may also mean you do not have enough RAM to complete the task, or that you do not have enough disk-space to complete the task.
